Danhong Wang: As It Is

Guzheng: Xinxin Song / Little Giant Chinese Chamber Orchestra, Tien-Ku Percussion Group / Chih-Sheng Chen / National Concert Hall, Taipei, Taiwan 2016.1.26.

This guzheng concerto was composed in 2013, and the main theme comes from the song “Zao Luo Robe” (皂羅袍) in the Kunqu opera “The Peony Pavilion • A Dream in the Garden.” This work, “As It Is,” is like an artistic flower rooted in the deep cultural soil, with its beautiful appearance full of rich traditional thoughts, cultural meanings, and oriental philosophy.

There is a phrase at the end of the Diamond Sutra: “Reality is like a dream. One should live life as it comes.” Listening to this music will lead us back to true tranquility with renewed energy.
