In bustling Taipei, there countless stories happening at the same time: some are about love, friendship and excitement which radiates and lights up the whole city.
This work describes a love story between two musicians that happened to meet on a side street in the Ximending area. They did not know that in fact, both had passed by each other many times for many years but unaware that the other existed. Just by chance, they finally ran into each other and their love story begins. In this piece, the composer uses the notes “do – ti – la” to represent the phrase “I love you”. “Music of Taipei” was commissioned and premiered by the Little Giant Chinese Chamber Orchestra.
