The Centre for Music Innovations (CMI) will be embarking on a project that will help make Chinese orchestral videos accessible to the English reader, with introductions to the repertoire, composers, and artists. We hope to become the gateway for contemporary Chinese orchestral music, bringing new audiences from around the world, and also inspiring new works to be written.

CMI is honoured to introduce our Artistic Advisor Dr. Chih-Sheng Chen, one of the most prominent Chinese orchestral conductors in Asia. He founded the gCO 小巨人絲竹樂團 Little Giant Chinese Chamber Orchestra in 2000 and is the Music Director and Conductor of this renowned ensemble, which has toured nationally and internationally. Dr. Chen is active on the international stage as a conductor, educator, and arts administrator, crossing between the disciplines of Chinese music, cross-cultural music, and western contemporary music, in both orchestral and chamber music settings.
