I learned piano from a young age. I have knowledge and appreciation for piano and western music only. I am now developing an interest in Chinese music after reading this book. I hope to see more of such inspirational books that expose future generations to the diverse wonderment of instruments and music from every corner of the world.

My 3 year-old grandson had a blast listening to the narrative and the music played with various Chinese musical instruments. He kept smiling as he listened and said the “sheng” was his favourite because it was funny! He already listened to the book 5 times today! I personally like the illustration, the story and the music. Both educational and entertaining. Well done, Patty!
